The Magpies lost 4-1 at Harrogate in midweek.

Chorley faced an uphill battle on the 4G artificial pitch after Simon Ainge converted from the spot in the third minute.

He added his second goal two mintues before the break.

The Magpies fought back with Marcus Carver netting in the 53rd minute but Jordan Thewlis put the game to bed with a third in the 63rd minute and a 90th-minute effort. Jansen is eager to bounce back but says his Magpies players need to learn from the defeat.

Jansen says there are positives to take from the game but says they need
to be more composed on Saturday.

He said: “We have got to take the positives.

“It is difficult to take them when you lose 4-1 but there were a lot of positives.

“I just wish we had a little bit more composure when we have got the ball.

“We don’t need to rush things as much. We get into good positions and sometimes try and pick a killer pass. Sometimes running at players causes problems.

“We did it a few times in the first half at Harrogate and then they back off and a simple pass opens up.

“We sometimes lack a little bit of composure but we are working on that.

“Over the next two or three weeks hopefully that will get better and we will open teams up more.

“In terms of creating chances, we created a
few chances but when
we went down to 10 men and the third goal which was a sucker punch it was
difficult.

“This is gone and if we win on Saturday, it is
forgotten.

“Obviously we are disappointed we haven’t got any points but we don’t look back – we look forward and it is Boston now.”

Jansen swapped Josh O’Keefe, Josh Wilson and Terry Gornall for Adam Blakeman, Dale Whitham and Marcus Carver at Harrogate.

Speaking of those changes, he said: “Harrogate, Salford, Kidderminster playing full-time they have the luxury of their fitness levels. Playing four times is tough for anyone, let alone part-timers with full-time jobs.

“The changes were made just to freshen things up and give lads who haven’t had a run-out some minutes.

“That was the plan with the changes and they did well.

“The 4-1 score flattered Harrogate but there were some positives from that game and we take that into Saturday.”
