Jansen says he questioned the mentality of his men as they found themselves 3-0 down to FC United at half-time on Saturday. But the Magpies fought back to make it 3-3 thanks to Scott Leather’s last gasp leveller.

Jansen said: “All credit to the boys, I said to them you have to be mentally strong for these last 15 games, they were not in the first half but in that second half they showed me what they have been about all season and I’m immensely proud. (At half-time) I said each and every one of you has to stand up and show how mentally tough you are. They showed me how strong they were, they are a strong unit and they are a team.”

This evening, the Magpies travel Lincolnshire for their re-arranged league game against Boston United
