Hide AdSpeaking on a Zoom press conference from Euxton on Friday morning, Neil said: "We need to see how they go over the next day or so.
"It's difficult, we had the game on Wednesday, gave them a day off for recovery time on Thursday, so until we get them on the grass this morning we won't know where a lot of them are physically."
North End had eight first-team players sidelined for the QPR game, due to a mix of long-term and short-term injuries.
Youth-team striker Joe Rodwell-Grant got a call-up to the bench for the first time to help cover the losses.

Hide AdNeil said: "Off the top of my head I think we have eight out injured the other day.
"We've got Declan Rudd, Pat Bauer, Louis Moult, Billy Bodin, Sean Maguire, Paul Gallagher, Ryan Ledson and Liam Lindsay.
"There's eight to rhyme off and you would argue if they were available, five of them would start.
"I'm sure a lot of other squads are similar. This year is unlike any other because of how things have panned out, it has been testing."
