Preston North End's Championship game against Stoke City to be moved to avoid a clash with Prince Philip's funeral

Prince Philip's funeral at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, will be held at 3pm on Saturday, April 17, and start with a national minute's silence.

The EFL have announced that any games scheduled to kick-off at that time will be switched.

North End meet Stoke at the bet365 Stadium.

A statement released by the EFL on Saturday evening read: "As a mark of respect, EFL matches scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 17 April will be moved to avoid a clash with the funeral of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

"The EFL will now work with its clubs to determine at what time the matches will be played, giving consideration to the timing of the service.

"An announcement will follow in due course."

Before kick-off of North End's 5-0 defeat to Brentford at Deepdale, a two minute's silence was held.
