NEW Magpies boss Paul Lodge has unveiled his new backroom staff at Victory Park.

Lodge, who has taken over from Shaun Teale, has revealed that Steve Murphy will be the assistant boss and Mark Fell will be the new fitness coach.

Murphy coached the Met Police team for six years and enjoyed a number of successes, while Fell joins Lodge from Accrington.

Lodge said: "It is important to have people around you that you know and trust. I have complete faith in both Steve and Mark, and I believe they will be a vital part of the team."

Lodge has promised "evolution not revolution" at Victory Park with gradual changes being introduced over the coming months.

Lodge said: "I have spoken to the team and they know to expect changes when a new manager comes along. I expect my players to give 110 per cent at all times on the pitch and I expect them to look after themselves off the pitch. I want the players to be proud to represent the club. It may be a cliche but I think we have too many good players, but it is all about getting the best from them."

Lodge also called on stay-at-home fans to get behind the Magpies.

He added: "We want to see people come through those gates on match day and get behind their local team.

"We want entertainment on the pitch with some good results and a good atmosphere off the pitch.

"I remember when Chorley were flying high and it would be great to get that going once again."
