Chorley 1st team continued their impressive start to the season with their second win in three games.

With difficult handling conditions, visitors Chorley took control in a forward-dominated battle.

The scores were level at 3-3 at half-time, after vice-captain Ben Renton scored a penalty for Chorley.

Fly-half Steve Pearson used all his years of experience in the semi-professional ranks to break through a tackle, and touch down in the corner.

Unfortunately for the hosts, Renton missed the conversion, but Chorley’s defence was outstanding throughout the 80 minutes.

Dave Crum was the man of the match for Chorley, while Ringo Wu was outstanding in turning the ball over.

Elsewhere, the 2nd team cruised to a 31-7 win over Fleetwood to remain top of the University of Salford League Division Five.

Dominic Leatherbarrow crossed for two tries, which was the main highlight.
