Croston power to win over Garstang

In the Moore and Smalley Palace Shield Premier Division, Croston beat Garstang by seven wickets on Saturday.

Croston bowled Garstang out for 125 and raced to 128-3 in a 24.2 over chase.

In Division One, Eccleston beat Vernon Carus’ second XI by two wickets.

Carus posted 154-9 and a 40 from David Hewson powered Eccleston to a two-wicket win.

Withnell Fold lost by five wickets at Garstang seconds.

The visitors made 117-9 batting first and Garstang successfully chased down the total.

Hoghton beat BAC/EE Preston by 159 runs. Hoghton made 263-7 batting first thanks to Phil Hurst (74) and Andrew Stuart Taylor (66).

And Hoghton powered to victory as they restricted BAC to 104-8 in their 45 overs.

White Coppice beat Rufford by 73 runs.

Kyle Dixon hit 90 as Coppice were bowled out for 175.

And Coppice bowled Rufford out for 102.

In Division Two, Whittle and Clayton-le-Woods lost by six wickets at 
Gregson Lane.

Whittle were bowled out for 94 and Gregson Lane lost five wickets as they chased down the 
target.

Mawdesley beat Great Eccleston by eight wickets.

Great Ecc made 122-9 batting first and Mawdesley steamed to 123-2 in their reply.

In Division Three, 
Charnock Richard lost by three wickets to Vernon Carus thirds.

Eccleston seconds beat Freckleton seconds and Leyland’s thirds lost at New Longton.
