Club chairman, Paul Steadman, said: “This is set to be a fantastic event for our club and the village of Mawdesley.

“We are delighted to be welcoming such stellar names from the world of cricket to Rectory Field to take on a Mawdesley Select XI.

“The new pavilion will mean that cricket can continue to be played and enjoyed in the village and will serve players & supporters for generations to come. I would encourage any cricket lovers to come and support our event and see some cricket legends in action.”

The fun starts at the ground at 10am with the big match starting at 4.30pm.

A marquee will be erected on the ground to host a pre-match lunch and question and answer session with the cricketing stars for VIP visitors.
