Chorley athlete Jonathan Mann secured 55th place (3hrs21mins) in the Blackpool marathon and in the half-marathon Chris Lane finished 11th(82:11) - both superb times, whilst the Blackpool Spring(5K) saw Emma Perrin finish 17th(19:56) cruising to the first female prize.
Also in the Blackpool open T&F meeting three Chorley juniors had very good warm-ups for the season with Lauren Price(U9), first time ever competition, 2nd in 80m and 4th in 600m.
The Hughes brothers Jack(U9) & Ben(U11) both won their long jumps, and were 4th and 3rd respectively in the 80m and 4th and 2nd in the 600m.
Meanwhile Ian Gouldthorpe had gone to the British Masters Championships at Lee Valley where he was 5th(5.65m) with a PB in long jump and 3rd(11.25m) and disappointed in the triple jump.
On the fells Lynne Clough finished a superb 40th(2nd lady) with Hassan Khattab(48th) chasing, followed by Paul Jackson(93rd) and Graham Schofield(132nd)
In the Pendle Round(8m) race, Darren Fishwick(72nd) and junior Harrison Denver(19th) at Ilkley Moor, with Darren(63rd) out again in the Cloud Nine Hill race at Congleton.
This weekend is the Bodyfit Lorton School(10K) on March 24 in Cumbria or the Muddy Bottoms(9/17) trail a day later from Bamber Bridge.
Elsewhere on March 27 there is the Kings Highway(5K) trail in Accrington with Chorley AC’s AGM and awards presentation on March 29 at St Peters on Eaves Lane. Sat 31st March holds the Belle Vue House(10K) in Ormskirk or the internal Club(Snr & Jnr) trail races by John Payn on April 1.
