CHORLEY Panthers RL Club had fun in the sun with three of their teams winning.
The Under-13s extended their unbeaten run this morning with a hard fought victory against Golborne Parkside.
Two tries from man of the match Ben Evans and one from second row George Minton took the scores to 14-14 before stand off Jack Thompson sealed the win with a fantastic touchline conversion to keep Chorley on an unbeaten run.
Elsewhere, the Panthers Open Age side defeated 36-22 against Saddleworth Rangers.
Both halves of this game followed the same pattern with the Panthers storming into an early lead through tries from Dean Mattinson and Mick Jessiman.
However, they were pegged back to a 12-10 lead at the the break by a Saddleworth side that wouldn’t lie down.
Similarly the home side raced into a 36-10 lead in the second half with further tries from Man of the Match Jessiman, Neil Prescott (two) and Joe Murphy.
As the home side took their foot off the gas the visitors again rallied and scored two late tries to record a respectable scoreline. The result was never in doubt today and youngster David Dale continues to impress with a tally of 35 tackles in this game
Meanwhile, the U12 side picked up convincing 24-12 wins against Crosfields.
On a day when the Panthers played 20 players the momentum was always at a risk of being lost however strength in depth, despite the interchanges, worked well as the U12s recorded their 4th straight win.
Try scorers were Mikey Hamer, Joe Rogers, Joe Bowden and Joe Duckworth with Josh Rourke kicking 2 from 5. Man of the match was Joe Rogers for his timely input that rallied the Panthers when they were probably losing their way.
Finally, the U7 side came away with the tails between their legs losing 20-0 against Leigh Miner Rangers.
