Bradshaw, who is gearing up for her third Olympics in Tokyo this summer, was part of the British squad for the European Indoor Championships earlier this month, all of whom were forced to isolate after a member of support staff returned a positive Covid-19 test.

And the 29-year-old, who won bronze at the event, has now seen her training hampered further after coming down with the virus, although she says she has “minimal symptoms”.

Bradshaw said : “Road to Tokyo. Well – it was meant to begin today but unfortunately I caught covid last week.

“I’m isolating for week one of training but thankfully I have minimal symptoms and still feel positive, optimistic and energised to start the final stretch of preparations towards my third Olympic Games.”

Bradshaw finished fifth at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and sixth at London 2012.
