Britain's Got Talent heads back to resort
Ever watched Britain's Got talent and thought we've got better dancers/singers/magicians/impressionists/drag acts/dancing dogs in Blackpool?
Now is the time to prove it. Britain’s Got Talent is back on the road sniffing out talent - terpsichorean terriers beware - ahead of the 11th series.
BGT talent scouts are out and about looking for the weird and the wonderful .
If you think you’ve got a talent which can entertain rather than be disdained give it your best shot at the Globe Theatre, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, on Saturday, July 30, between 10am and 2pm.
For one lucky winner of the show nationally - and quite a few of the also-rans - it can be a real game changer.
This year’s champion was the military man who cut a dash in every sense - Richard Jones became the first magician to win the show.
Paul Potts, Diversity and Collabro have made it big too. You can catch a bespoke set by Diversity in the Illuminations switch-on ceremonials in September.
Ashley Banjo, the incredible choreographer who leads the BGT winning dance troupe, is also one of the creative driving forces behind the Lights switch on, putting his highly distinctive stamp on proceedings. If his choreography for BGT’s celebration of 10 years was anything to go by Lights fans are in for a treat.
What’s more, Collabro (2014 winners) take the main arena stage of Lytham Festival for West End Proms on August 7.
And don’t forget that Blackpool-born Jules O’Dwyer and Matisse ‘dog trick act’ - as the producers describe it - bow wowed judges last year ... even with the bone of contention over how many dogs won the day.
Think you can do better? Successful seaside acts will be in with a chance of securing a place at one of the judges’ auditions next year. Anything - and any age - goes from magicians to comedians, drag acts to singers and acrobats to animals. Aspiring acts can also apply via www.itv.com/talent and register.
Executive producer Amelia Brown, said: “We can’t wait to see what talent Blackpool has to offer. If you feel you have something special to show us then make sure you apply, you never know where it might take you.”
