Game review: BIoshock Infinite: Burial at sea episode one DLC

I don`t often get sent out DLC for review yet 2K games have recently sent me a copy of Burial at Sea Episode 1for the excellent Bioshock Infinite, and it’s an interesting departure from the original game.

Set in the underwater city of Rapture again our hero Booker Dewitt is now a phillip marlow type detective and the whole feel is that of a classic noir 50`s detective novel, Elizabeth returns and the search is on for the little girl he left behind some time ago.

Ok so off we go, and the story is quiet compelling with a few twists and turns, a kind of Kubrick style Eyes wide shut party scene, some sneaking around and a bit of action

It does take a while to get going and with this DLC being only 90 minutes long you’re limited on time when the action does start happening.

The graphics and feel of the content is superb with a very moody atmosphere and a number of tasks to complete, the combat seems improved on the original game yet still not overly exciting, I found it much easier to rush my enemies and melee them rather than trying to shoot them with any weapons or use my vigors.

There are a number of puzzles to solve as we progress, finding things, unlocking doors, action is sporadic yet satisfying, and you still get to use the good old Skyhook, which I used for mainly bashing bad guys.

Weapons are plentiful and vigors are also available as with the first game

Bioshock Infinite: Burial at sea is an interesting departure and entertaining, maybe a little on the short side gameplay wise, and with a shock ending that has me wanting to play the second half when its released, This DLC is definitely worth a play but don`t expect hours of gameplay or too much action.
