HUSH...? is a selection of songs inspired by the voices of transgender people.

As part of Blackpool Pride Festival local choir, Revoe-lution, will perform part of the Hush song cycle with transgender performer Triston Whiston on Sunday at 5pm at the Empress Ballroom.

Director Polly Thomas explains: “We’ve been talking to transgender men and women, their families and the medical teams who work with them on voice. Out of this research, we have created a series of songs that tell the journey of a voice.”

Writer Alex Bulmer writes: “I’m delighted to have my songs and story performed by the Blackpool community choir. When artists and enthusiastic community members work together, it feels like a truly shared event “

Shaun Pickup, chairman of Pride Blackpool, adds: “Pride Festival Blackpool are delighted to support Hush’s performance, we are thrilled to be premiering this new work at Blackpool Pride Festival.” The choir, which claims to be Britain’s most ‘fun’ choir, have curated a new set of songs especially for Pride.
