Pier Jam's favourite Sons

With more than 20 years' experience in the electronic music scene between them, house duo Son of 8 should be the perfect act to get this weekend's Pier Jam bouncing, this Saturday.

Headlined by chart-topping Duke Dumont, best known for the anthemic ‘Need U (100%)’, the second installment of the four-part house music event on Blackpool’s North Pier is set to be one of the biggest yet.

Also joining Duke Dumont on the line-up is French producer Tchami, who reached number seven in the UK chart with ‘Promesses’. As well as Nottingham DJ Philip George who scored a huge hit with Stevie Wonder sampled, ‘Wish You Were Mine’, aged just 21.

However it’s Liverpool’s Son of 8 who are the veterans of the line-up, boasting two decades worth of experience in producing music and performing all over the world, currently acting as residents of Judgement in Ibiza, alongside legendary DJ Judge Jules.

Despite both being around for so long, the duo say that 2016 has been somewhat of a breakout year for them, saying: “We’ve had some amazing moments this year. Playing on the mainstage at We Are FSTVL, releasing on Zulu Records and Armada Deep, as well our residency at Judgement in Ibiza.

“We can’t wait to see where the rest of the year takes us!”

Speaking about Pier Jam, the duo said: “After putting on events of our own, we know the effort and work it takes to make something of this scale work, so to see ticket sales flying and great feedback on the line-up, we can’t wait to be part of it!

“We’re always learning from watching and listening to other DJs, so this will be another great opportunity to see some class acts – it’s a great way to bring people together and hopefully Blackpool will love it!”

Pier Jam Part 2 kicks off at 1pm, this Saturday. Tickets are on sale at http://pierjam.skiddletickets.com priced at £25, VIP tickets with access to the VIP toilets, bar and after party at Domain Nightclub are also available for £35.

The next event will take place on Saturday, September 3. It will see the phenomenal Hannah Wants headlining alongside Shadow Child and Shiba San before eventually DJ EZ brings the Pier Jam season to a close with the fourth and final installment on Saturday, September 17.
