The DukesDocs season returns to the Lancaster venue this month, with another selection of the best documentary films – new and old – from around the world.
The spring collection starts tonight with Don’t Look Back (PG), celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moment in music history when Bob Dylan shocked his legions of fans by ‘going electric’.
This classic documentary followed Dylan’s UK 1965 tour and, after the screening, Lancaster Folk Club will present an evening of Dylan classics in the Café Bar.
For the Grand National, DukesDocs present Dark Horse (PG) on April 14, May 23 and 25.
This tells the rags to riches story of an unlikely Welsh mining village syndicate who bred a winning racehorse.
Following the screening on April 14, there will be a satellite question and answer event with the filmmakers.
On April 27 and 30 it’s Dior & I (12A), an in-depth look at one of the world’s most iconic fashion houses.
Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck (15) concludes the spring season on May 6 and 7.
This comprehensive look at the life of the legendary Nirvana frontman blends Cobain’s personal archive of art, music and home movies never seen before with animation and revealing interviews.
