Chorley’s James Walsh is leading Starsailor back out on the road for the band’s first UK headline tour in five years, and tickets are now on sale.
The band have announced a full tour for October 2015 – a 13-date run which will see them perform dates in Manchester and Liverpool.
Starsailor burst on the scene in 2001 with the hit single Fever.
The band were formed at Wigan and Leigh Music College by students James Walsh, James Stelfox and Ben Byrne with Barry Westhead arriving later.
Born in Wigan, Walsh grew up in Chorley where he attended St Michael’s CE High School.
Byrne and Stelfox had played together in bands in Warrington.
One day, when their vocalist did not turn up, Walsh asked them if he could sit in with them and sing for this rehearsal. This was the first incarnation of Starsailor as a band.
Starsailor scored two UK top 10 LPs, and sold more than three million albums around the world including more than one million copies of their debut.
They play Liverpool’s O2 Academy on October 2, then the Albert Hall in Manchester on Saturday, October 3.
