Celtic rocker and singer/songwriter Paddy Ryan is coming to Coppull as part of a huge world tour to coincide with a debut solo album, The Man In The Box.
The Shevington star has long helped fly the green, white and orange tricolor for Emerald Isle music across the North West, playing alongside his father Jacky in The Ryans for more than a decade, winning a pile of awards for Irish music across the Republic in the process.
Paddy, 26, who will gig as The Paddy Ryan Band for the next six months, is increasingly based in America where there remains a huge following for Irish music.
His hugely ambitious new tour, which opens in Queens, New York, on March 3, encompasses 18 gigs in the USA, 12 in England, plus numerous shows in Denmark, Spain and Germany.
It marks his first full year without The Ryans – which is effectively on ice for the time being - and with who he won three major Irish Music gongs.
The band released seven albums and won several award, performing a marathon over 2,000 shows worldwide including cruise ships, radio and television.
Last year Paddy formed his own group to play more of his original work, which fuses Americana and classic rock with Irish trad.
Before all that, he’s performing at The Red Herring, Mill Lane, Coppull, this Saturday.
