Preston’s 80s indie scene is being celebrated next month.
The Continental is hosting an all-dayer celebrating both John Peel Day and Preston’s mid- 80s venue The Twang Club, which regularly featured live sets from bands who’d been given air-time by Peel.
The day takes place on Saturday, October 26, starting at 3pm.
Two bands who played the Twang Club – Yeah Yeah Noh and The Nightingales – are on the bill as well as The Primitives, The Lovely Eggs, and the Wolfhounds.
Special guests are two much-loved Preston acts from the early 90s, Big Red Bus and Dreamland, who are both reforming to play this event.
There are two stages, one in The Continental and the other in the Pavilion Cafe, next door in Avenham Park.
Earlybird tickets are £10 and available online from wegottickets.com and in person from The Continental Bar 01772 499 425 and Action Records, Preston, (01772 884 772).
