Perhaps best known now as Corrie’s coolest cabbie Craig Charles will be spinning wheels of a different kind in Preston later this month.
The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show hits 53 Degrees Saturday after next (October 18).
The former Red Dwarf star has carved out a successful broadcasting and DJing career, presenting BBC 6 Music’s Funk & Soul Show.
Craig’s career began when he won The Guardian Poetry Award aged 12. He performed as a warm-up for bands in his native Liverpool, and made his TV debut performing his poetry on Wogan.
Craig is recognised the world over as Dave Lister – the curry-loving, last-surviving human in sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf.
He has also been seen and heard as a performer or presenter on programmes as diverse as Through The Keyhole, The Bill and Robot Wars. In the past Craig has also been a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, has toured his stand-up and even done panto.
He is at 53 Degrees October 18, tickets £10, for more details see www.53degrees.net/
