Nigel Stewart, of the Creative Network and who will be organising the acts at Chorley Live, said the event would bring a real community feel back into the town.

“There’s a real buzz about the event and I’m delighted with the variety and quality of acts we are able to bring to Chorley this year,” he said.

“You can’t get much for £5 these days so to have two evenings of live entertainment with 200 performances to choose from is great value – it’s like Glastonbury but without the mud.

“We are trying to bring the whole community together to create something special that we can build on in Chorley for years to come.

“We’ve heard lots of people talking about it so don’t miss out – get your wristband now and tell your family and friends all about it.”

The event is on tomorrow and Saturday October 3 and 4 with live performances at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm at each venue.

Wristbands are on sale at each venue, from the acts taking part, the Creative Network or the council’s offices on Union Street – more details, including full schedules, are in each venue or at facebook.com/chorleylive, at chorley.gov.uk or www.creatives-network.co.uk.

A programme containing details of all performances will also be available.
