The Hemingways are bringing their vintage event back to Morecambe.
The second Vintage By the Sea Festival, curated by Wayne, Gerardine and Jack Hemingway, takes place on September 6/7.
Last year, the event marked The Midland’s 80th anniversary and attracted more than 7,000 visitors to the resort – but then it was a one-day event.
It promises swing, rockabilly, mod, soul, funk, disco, ska, film, art and design, or if you just want to dress up and get an authentic makeover for a day, the Vintage by the Sea Festival is a “sensual delight, a big dressing-up box, a collector’s dream and a joyous creative feast for all ages”.
There will be music, fashion, film, art, design and dance from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Morecambe’s seafront will provide the backdrop, and will be transformed into “a multi-venue playground where visitors can learn the dances, take in specially curated live performances, exclusive DJ sets, catwalk shows, brilliantly conceived food and cocktails, or take advantage of the decade-specific hair and beauty makeovers and all the wonderful vintage shopping on offer”.
