A pair of musicians, hailing all the way from Nashville, Tennessee, will perform ‘unplugged’ in Garstang later this month.
Brigitte DeMeyer and Will Kimbrough will play at The Kenlis Arms, on Ray Lane, Barnacre, on Thursday, March 23.
After performing all over North America and Europe during the past eight years, the pair recently released their first album as a duo - Mockingbird Soul.
Guitarist Will Kimbrough, said: “We figured we might as well put both our names on it and just make it a thing, because the chemistry’s there, the writing’s there, the harmonies are there, and so is our mutual love of all the music.”
The pair describe their music as “acoustic soul”, drawing on influences from a number of different genres, including country, blues and early jazz.
A spokesman added: “DeMeyer’s vocals carry as much sultriness as a humid evening in New Orleans, where she found lyrical inspiration. It’s all about their voices and Kimbrough’s guitar.”
