Former UCLan student Jed Saint is back on campus with the rock highlight of Freshers’ Week
For Freshers new to the city, an all-day music event this weekend could be just the ticket .
Hey Preston! will be staged at to 53 Degrees tomorrow and promises to combine headline talent with a selection of gems from the local music scene and beyond.
Local music producer and former UCLan student, Jed Saint, organised the event.
Jede said: “Well, I’d been promoting local talent for around three and a half years and I wanted to put on a music event that brought in headliners as well as focus on locl talent.
“One of the bands and Preston favourites Next Stop Atlanta had been on a bit of a hiatus but I have convinced them to make their show at the festival their comeback gig which is pretty awesome.”
Headliners Heaven’s Basement return to the Preston student venue after touring across the globe as well as Preston’s Failsafe, Blackpool’s The Karma Party, UCLan band, Go Around Captain, local heavy band, RotcoR, Carlisle 3-piece Colt 45 and, in the sub-headline slot, Nantwich boys, Blitz Kids.
Jed said: “Most of the bands have been about on the local music scene for a while but everyone wants to play a student venue on the first weekend of Fresher’s Week - it will be incredible.”
Tickets for the festival are priced at £12 if bought in advance from www.seetickets.com/Event/hey-preston-/53-degrees/809624.
Tickets are also available from the UCLan student union shop, Essentials, support bands and from Action Records.
Doors open at 3.30pm with the first band, Go Around Captain, taking to the stage at 4pm.
