Southport Theatre plays host to a variety of artists in the coming weeks.
Legendary rock ‘n’ roll artist Joe Brown will play on January 24, the pop music extravaganza 80s Mania will have you dancing on January 29, while February 6 brings the original hitmakers of soul, Jimmy James & the Vagabonds, Clem Curtis of The Foundations and Ernestine Pearce of The Flirtations, in Soul Explosion.
Rock ‘n’ Roll legend Joe Brown goes from strength to strength as his contemporary achievements continue to gather momentum.
His performance at Southport promises to be a true celebration of a career spanning six decades.
His ‘Very Best Of’ album achieved a Gold Record for a massive 120,000 sales in 2008 and was on the UK charts for eight weeks, staying four weeks in the Top 20. In the same year his 50th anniversary was celebrated with a wonderful sell-out show at the Royal Albert Hall.
Along with his five-piece band, Joe will be on stage all evening, and the musical styles incorporated into this new show are as unique as the man himself.
Packed with timeless classics, rockabilly, gospel, country, folk and rock ‘n’ roll, all interwoven with Joe’s effervescent delivery and humorous reminiscences, this sensational show is a musical journey not to be missed.
Performing more than 35 chart-topping smash hits live in concert, 80s Mania bring alive the look and sounds of the 80s with tributes to Duran Duran, The Human League, Kim Wilde, Culture Club, Madonna, Wham!, Nena, Toni Basil, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Bananarama, Dead or Alive, Madness and many many more! Soul Explosion bring their classic hits to Southport Theatre for an unforgettable night: backed by a live band, this powerhouse of a show will have you dancing in the aisles!
