All shows have to start somewhere – and Blackpool is a better place to start than many.
The resort looks set to offer the usual rich pickings for TV’s search for a singing star with auditions for X Factor being held on Friday and Saturday.
Liam Halewood, the local entertainer who got up to 6,500 audience members at Wembley Stadium on side last year but failed to win the judges over, is helping talent scout.
The auditions take place on Friday, from 2pm to 6pm, at Cybil Duvaux Peek-a-Booze on Dickson Road, for over 16s only, after 4.30pm for those in full-time education, and under 18s to be accompanied by adults.
Liam is also helping organise Blackpool Pride in June.
Initial plans to host mainstream auditions at Hounds Hill Centre on Saturday have changed in favour of Viva Cabaret.
Auditions run from 10am to 4pm at the seafront venue alongside Blackpool Tower, the address is 3 Church Street.
It’s part of a mobile tour of more than 40 towns and cities. Groups and solo singers can apply just by turning up.
