There’s a distinct political feel to the next two National Theatre Live screenings to arrive at Lancaster’s Dukes cinema in coming weeks.
This House is set at Westminster in 1974 while The Audience sees Helen Mirren as the Queen in a play about the monarch and all the Prime Ministers she’s met weekly during her reign. This House is live tonight with an encore screening on May 26.
The Audience, directed by Stephen Daldry, is broadcast as part of National Theatre Live on June 13 and is sold out. Mirren made news when she interrupted a performance to berate a passing group of street drummers in her Queen garb.
Encore screenings are on June 15, 16 and 22. Box Office: 01524 598500 or www.dukes-lancaster.org.
