The Lowry in Salford is bracing itself for the return of the biggest-selling show in its history– as the National Theatre’s tour of War Horse returns.
The award-winning adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s novel, which sold more than 114,000 tickets for performances in Salford over Christmas, is back for a nine-week run from Wednesday to September 20.
The cast will perform a total of 70 performances during the 56-day run.
Producer Chris Harper said: “We were overwhelmed by the reaction of audiences at The Lowry during our first visit with War Horse, and the entire company is excited to return to the North West.”
There will be a captioned matinee performance on August 28, a signed performance September 6 and audio described September 13.
There will also be a post-show Q&A with the creative team behind the show for ticket holders of the evening performance on September 11.
