Comedian Kevin Shevlin, runner up in national comedy competition So You Think You’re Funny, stars at the second ever KorovaKlectic cabaret night tonight at Preston’s newest venue, the Korova Arts Cafe.

Shevlin, who is triumphed in FHM’s Stand-Up Hero and the Beat the Frog World Series, tops the bill at the electic cabaret night, which is compered by Manchester comic Will Duggan.

And the evening also features the Preston based Scrunchie Theatre Company, two UCLan acting graduates Alice Smithson and Laura Hill, who will give an exclusive preview of their forthcoming Edinburgh show, Extreme Withdrawal is Manifest.

They will be performing the whole piece at Korova on Friday and Saturday June 21 and 22, just before setting off to the Fringe.

And tonight’s show will be opened by Lancaster based poet Miss P.

The Korova, which opened just two weeks ago, on St Wilfred’s Street, just off Fishergate, is run by the organisers of the long established Korova arts project, which has been staging events in the city, including Organised Mike and Comedy Mike nights and the Preston Tringe Festival, for years,

KorovaKlectic continues on from their Organised Mike nights and will feature the same kind of wide ranging variety of performers.

Sam Buist, who produces the evening and runs Korova Arts Café and Bar, said: “We want KorovaKlectic to be one of our core events, for the artists community of Preston and beyond to come along and showcase their work.

“The event is open for everyone to participate if they pre-book their slot.

Doors for KorovaKlectic open at 7.30pm and entry is free. To participate in future events, please email with your details and contact.
