You can now take a walk and enjoy an outdoor theatre trip in the Lake District – simultaneously – thanks to an innovative free idea.
Point to Point is an audio theatre experience, based in Walla Crag, Keswick, and following the route of one of Alfred Wainwright’s celebrated fell walks.
It takes its audience on a personal theatrical journey where the physical fell-walk is as important as the beautiful writing and soundscape, listened to on headphones at points along the route.
The brainchild of Louie Ingham, associate director at The Dukes in Lancaster, and sound designer and composer Mark Melville, it is written by Lee Mattinson.

It contains all the instructions needed as well as tips for safety and comfort and is available now and all summer.
A fusion of words, music and sound design creates a new kind of theatre, to provide a fresh way to enjoy the classic Walla Crag fell walk.
It’s just one of four artistic creations which form Lakes Ignite, a project aimed at highlighting the cultural life of the Lake District. All are based around a theme of imaginary journeys. See www.lakesculture.co.uk .
