It runs from 6.30pm until 10pm, beginning with a warm welcome drink before the open log fire sets the scene for a tour of the house with intriguing new insights into the thoughts and actions of one of Britain’s least-known monarchs.
Hear fascinating details of his visit to Hoghton and the fine foods of the famous banquet in his honour at the Tower.
Finally, dine in the magnificent and imposing Banqueting Hall where James I himself feasted, and share in the celebrated loin of beef.

On Thursday, October 31, Friday, November 1, and Friday, November 15 there will be Ghostly Evenings between 7.15pm and 9.45pm
A glass of mulled wine begins the evening before silent torchbearers guide you through the darkened halls of the Tower. You will encounter spectres tales by the guide who will regale you with ghostly happenings from across the centuries. Finally, dine in warmth and comfort.
