Today (August 25), pupils at Southlands High School in Chorley are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results.

A Southlands spokesperson said: “All the staff at Southlands congratulate our year 11 students on receiving their education results. We recognise this has been a difficult period for all students and are delighted that they are now ready to move forward in their education and training.

“Our students have maintained a positive attitude and have shown resilience in the face of the difficulties experienced over the past few years and have been rewarded today for their hard work and perseverance. The results they have received today will allow them to move forward to the next stage of their education at our local colleges. Our students all have high aspirations and we are proud to see them move on to a wide range of courses, which will prepare them for their future careers, including Engineering, Criminology, Computing, Politics, Floristry as well as Sports Scholarships and a Brewery Apprenticeship.
