Garstang's recycling centre is temporarily closing
The community recycling and re-use centre in Garstang will close from today (22nd March), after being hit by staffing issues caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

It is not known when the facility - located on Brockholes Way in Catterall - will reopen.

All of the county's other household waste recycling plants remain in operation at present.

A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council, which operates the site, said: "We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to people who use the centre, but details of all other recycling centres and their opening hours are available on [our] website."

The Garstang facility accepts a more limited range of recyclable material than other centres - including green garden waste, glass bottles, paper, cardboard and electrical items.

Last year, opening hours at all 16 recyling centres were reduced - details can be found at: www.lancashire.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling/recycling-centres
