Two teenagers were arrested following an increase in motorbike thefts in Rossendale.

Police said they were aware there had been an increase in motorbike thefts in Rossendale over the last few days.

Officers regularly patrolled the hotspot areas and responded to a report of suspicious activity at around 6.30am on Thursday, August 18.

A 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old youth, both from the Rochdale area, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft.

They were interviewed and later released pending further enquiries.

“We will continue our patrols and to deter people willing to travel from other areas to commit crime in Rossendale,” a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.
