Woman charged and named after man hospitalised following stabbing in Haslingden

A man was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the back in Haslingden.

Paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing in Rosewood Avenue, Haslingden, on Friday, October 14.

Emergency services found a man had been stabbed in the back when they arrived at the scene.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but police said his injuries were “not as serious as first thought”.

Michelle Halstead, 33, was arrested the following day and later charged with Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She was remanded to court where she appeared on Monday morning (October 17).

She was subsequently granted bail to live at a property in Burnley, with a warning to not enter Haslingden.

A 39-year-old man was also released on bail pending further enquiries.
