Cow 'hoofs it' down busy motorway

A rogue cow had to be 'mooo-ved' along by patrols after it went on the rampage on a north west motorway.

Police say they were called to reports of the cow hoofing it along the eastbound M55 between junctions 1 and 3 at around 9.15am on Monday July 17.

Traffic was temporarily held while cow was located and returned to a nearby field.

Police say Highways England were working to repair a boundary fence as quickly as possible.

There are not believed to be any delays in the area.
